PFCongres is the web development conference of the year. For the eighth year in a row, we welcome a large group of web developers to update their knowledge, this year on September 14th. Just like last year, you can expect a full-day conference with two parallel tracks. This year, though, we're expanding with a third (unconference) track as well as a tutorial day on Friday September 13th.
Beertasting at PFCongres
After the tutorials on Friday 13 September we have a very nice social event: A true beertasting! Sponsored by Enrise and hosted by the brewer Oscar Moerman we will taste five or six types of beer. THis is of course not the average beer: The most beautiful and complex beers will come by. We welcome you at 19:30 at the NH Hotel Jaarbeursplein!
New at PFCongres: The Unconference
One of the focusses of PFCongres has always been about giving new speaking talent a chance at hitting the stage and showing the world what they do. Our schedule contains multiple first-time speakers every year. This year we want to offer even more of an opportunity for new speakers by offering a full-day unconference track, a track parallel to the main conference where everyone can be a speaker.
The unconference this year is hosted by PHPWomen and run specifically by Lineke Kerckhoffs-Willems. Let's give Lineke the stage to tell us about the unconference:
This year I have the pleasure to organise the first ever uncon for PfCongres. The uncon gives everyone the chance to speak up and learn the audience something new. This includes you! We especially look for inexperienced speakers and they will be given precendence over more experienced speakers. Topics should be webdevelopment related, but can be anything from HTML5 to Vagrant to Git, whatever you feel you have something to say about! If you need any help coming up with a topic or want to run your idea past me, feel free to contact met through email and twitter. There will be short slots for 15 minute talks and some larger slots, depending on what you come up with. If you want to speak you can let us know beforehand (through email or twitter) so you'll be sure we have a spot for you or on the day itself if there any slots left. Don't wait to long and let us know what you would like to talk about! Are you interested? Contact Lineke through Twitter or e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org to get yourself a spot in the unconference. New speakers, this is your chance!
The unconference is sponsored by Ingewikkeld.
Schedule online, tutorial tickets on sale
Perhaps you'd already noticed, but the schedule voor PFCongres 2013 has been on our website since yesterday! Both the schedule for the tutorials and for the conference day have been put online. Het is now possible to start the puzzle of creating the most optimal schedule for your needs.
Aside from that, the ticketsales for the tutorials has also opened. Next to the (early bird) conference tickets, you can now also purchase special combi-tickets. With the exception of the tutorial by Andreas Hucks, all tutorials are half days, so you can purchase tickets for all combinations of half-daytutorials. Of course the regular conference tickets are also still available. We do want to warn you: There are limited seats in the tutorials, so if you want to attend a tutorial, get your tickets as soon as possible!
Jesse Burkunk keynotespeaker
We've got some fantastic news! For PFCongres 2013 we've arranged for Jesse Burkunk, Head of New Media for Dutch public broadcasting organization BNN to deliver the keynote. As Head of New Media for BNN, Jesse knows all about the challenges that you encounter as (media-) organization these days. He will come and tell us about the challenges and opportunities of the rapid technological advances that an organization can encounter, especially when you're targeting teenagers that adopt new technologies faster than any other audience. What can you do with it? What do you encouter? Jesse will tell us.
Call for Papers closed, ticketsales opened
The Call for Papers has been closed. We want to thank everybody who submitted for doing so. We will be reading all proposals and create a schedule out of that. We hope to announce the schedule in two weeks time.
We've also opened the ticket sales for the conference in blindbird. PLEASE NOTE: If you want to attend a tutorial, please wait with purchasing a ticket. Because the tutorialschedule is not ready yet, we can't sell the tickets for that.
